Fire Station No. 6 Participates in Preservation Houston's Good Brick Tour

On May 2nd and 3rd Fire Station No. 6 opened its doors to members of Preservation Houston as part of their 2015 Good Brick Tour, which offers a unique insider's look at six award-winning restoration projects in the Houston area.

During that weekend over 300 people visited the restored fire station and toured the building and studio space.

There were 7 docents per shift (morning and afternoon) throughout the Fire Station who toured visitors through specific segments of the space detailing the restoration process of the original building built in 1903 and the expansion that was built in 2011.

In total there were six stops in Preservation Houston's Good Brick Tour:

National Cash Register Building, 515 Caroline Street

 "The Casita" 317a Sampson Street

  1100 Milford Street

1635 South Boulevard
L.D. Allen House, 2337 Blue Bonnet Boulevard
The proceeds from the Good Brick Tour benefited Preservation Houston, Houston's only citywide non-profit historic preservation education and advocacy organization.
