Historic Fire Station No. 6 is among 6 finalists recently recognized by
Urban Land Institute (ULI) Houston for the
2014 Development of Distinction Awards and is 1 of 3 finalists in the 'For Profit' category. The
Development of Distinction Awards define the standard for excellence in the
practice of real estate development in the Houston area and exemplify best
practices in design, construction, economic viability, community health,
marketing and management.
In November,
a jury of 3 national real estate experts will tour the finalist locations and
select the winners. The jury includes: Eric Swanson, director of real estate
investment at Odebrecht in Miami; Sean M. (Monte) Wilson, director of Jacobs’
Advance Planning Group and a registered landscape architect; and Felix Ciampa,
executive director of Urban Land Institute – New York.
Finalists
and winners will be honored at the 7th Annual Development of
Distinction Awards Gala on January 28, 2014 at the Rice Crystal Ballroom.
ULI is a
global nonprofit research and education organization representing the entire
spectrum of land use and real estate development disciplines. The
Houston district chapter of ULI has more than 900 members who come together at
educational programs and other events to share experiences.
