Axiom Participates in Record-Breaking Offshore Technology Conference

The 2014 Offshore Technology Conference, held in Houston May 5th through 9th, attracted record-breaking crowds with the highest attendance of the conference’s 46-year history. Up 3.3% from 2013, the event had 108,300 attendees and over 2500 exhibitors. For its 10th year in a row, strategic branding and creative communications firm Axiom participated at OTC with the development of integrated campaigns, interactive multimedia and booth designs for their energy clients.

Axiom collaborated with clients including Cameron, OneSubsea, Gardner Denver, McCoy Global and Superior Energy Services to create awareness for their presence at OTC and drive traffic to their exhibits. With the abundance of competition for mindshare at an event of this scale, capturing the attention of target audiences is challenging. Axiom's OTC campaigns encompassed digital, 3D, 2D and print media and were developed with dynamic creative and compelling messaging for maximum impact.

Additionally, the agency and its partners utilized cutting edge display technologies such as diagonally-mounted 90” monitors, 13’ x 4’ hanging video walls, 9’ x 7' theater screens, micro tiles and 3D projection mapping to draw in crowds with motion graphic presentations. Axiom’s clients all reported their booths enjoyed maximum capacity for the first 3 days of the conference — and local media took notice too. Cameron, Gardner Denver and McCoy Global were all featured in The Houston Chronicle’s reporting on the conference.

At the conclusion of this year’s conference, OTC show management announced a new event called “d5” designed to bring together innovative thinking and insights from inside and outside the E&P industry. The d5 advisory committee chair described the connection between OTC and d5. “Technological breakthroughs in neuroscience, digitization, nanotechnology and many other areas are redefining our world. For the offshore industry, which continues to look to new frontiers to meet an ever-increasing need for energy, becoming aware and drawing creative inspiration from discoveries in other industries is critical to our success.”

The 2015 Offshore Technology Conference will take place at NRG Park from May 4th through May 7th and will be followed by d5 on May 8th.
